Summer is the perfect time to visit Porto, a charming city located in the north of Portugal. With its stunning architecture, picturesque streets, and beautiful river views, Porto is a must-visit destination for families looking for a fun and relaxing vacation.
I visited Porto several years back with my friend, and this time I brought along my husband and kid to celebrate our son, together with other family from Indonesia.
☀️ Why Porto is A Perfect Destination for A Family With Children
One of the best things about Porto is its family-friendly atmosphere. The city is full of parks, playgrounds, and attractions that are perfect for kids of all ages. From the beautiful gardens of the Crystal Palace to the interactive exhibits at the World of Discoveries museum, there is no shortage of activities to keep children entertained.
And what I noticed from our trip was the people of Porto were very friendly towards kids.

☀️ Finger Licking Culinary in Porto
When it comes to culinary delights, Porto is a food lover's paradise. The city is famous for its delicious seafood, pastries, and of course, port wine. Make sure to try some of the local specialties such as bacalhau (salted codfish), francesinha (a hearty sandwich p a with meat and cheese), and pastel de nata (custard tart).

I can’t hardly recommend this local restaurant enough, we visited even 2 times during our stay in Porto. They delivered top world class foods right on your table. We ve had our son’s birthday lunch in here, together with other 7 people.

The owner of the restaurant and also the team were so attentive and friendly, full of hospitality.
Just make sure you come early because the tables will always be full and like other restaurants in Porto, they don’t accept any reservations in advance.
My tips is arrive around 10:50 and stay until they open the door around 11:00 , you re welcome 🤗
For a truly unique dining experience, head to the Ribeira district and dine at one of the many restaurants overlooking the Douro River. The views are spectacular, but not sure if the food is even better. We did visited some restaurant in the neighbourhood but only for some apperitive .
☀️ Harry Potter Fans, Must Visit Porto
In addition to exploring the city's culinary scene, there are plenty of family-friendly activities to enjoy in Porto. Take a boat ride along the Douro River, visit the Livraria Lello bookshop (rumored to have inspired J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series), or spend a day at the beach in nearby Matosinhos.
