Travel Tips for Bali - The First Timer Coming to Bali

I dont know where to start if I should say about this Island, every corner has its own story. But let me try, let s say it s a blog part I about Bali , the story shall continue in the next diary, i promise:)

- DENPASAR-

Nothing special to be honest, it s a capital of Bali where offices located.

-KUTA-

Bali is not only Kuta, that is for absolutely sure.

But yes, many beginner tourists spending their time of staying in the hotel-hostels in this region, before they explore more of the whole Island. The near location from the airport is one of the benefit to stay in Kuta, with taxi you only have to pay Rp.50.000,- / $5 with the ride of 15 minutes with no traffic.

The beach in Kuta is one of the famous because of its high wave , surfers beginners and advance would like to experience it. Many short course for you who d like to learn surfing.

The street vendors might be a bit annoy , but trust me, they re not harm,just trying to sell something for their life. Simply say no (TIDAK) and smile, they will stay away from you..They are not hassle at all, if you know what s the meaning of hassle of course, it s totally different as in Egypt and India for instance.

-ULUWATU-

Uluwatu temple is one of the most sacred temples in Bali and this is the best place to watch Kecak Dance where the background of the stage is a sea in the sunset time.

The Kecak dance is a dramatic balinesse dance. Taken from the Hindu epic Ramayana, the dance tells the story of Prince Rama and his rescue of Princess Sita, who has been kidnapped by the evil King.

The entrance ticket is Rp 50.000,- or equal to around € 4 per person for 1 hour performance.

In Uluwatu you will find high rated hotels , in the chain of Intercontinent, Ritz Carlton (recently is AYANA Resort) , Bvlgari and many more. Not only hotel, as well a very gorgeus villas.

There s an happening lounge located in Ayana Resort, with a spectacular view of the Cliff with the big rock, a glass of coctails will accompany you during your time waiting for the sunset.

-JIMBARAN-

Jimbaran still in the same region of Uluwatu, you will get Jimbaran first if you come from Denpasar.

Jimbaran is famous among local tourists and always in the menu travel package of the international tourists who come to Bali. 

In Jimbaran you will find a rows of sea food restaurant, not an ordinary one of course, the table setting is right in front of the amazing Indian Ocean, where you foot could step on the sands. 

The sea food is always fresh, you could pick what suit you the best, let s say prawn, any kind of fish, squid in either fried, steam, barbecue...whatever your taste is..They will serve the food together with Sambal (Hot Sauce).Maaaan,i m even mouthwatering when i typing this:) 

-UBUD-

Ubud is the centre for fine arts, dance and music. And now Ubud is a hotspot for doing relaxing,yoga and meditation. 

Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali, let s say rice fields, cozy little villages, art communities, temples, Ayung River and many more. 

Oh well, I m not trying to repeat what in the guide books might say about this place.

-TANAH LOT-

Probably Tanah Lot is the most visited temple in Bali, because of the strategic location, quit near from the city centre of Bali and have the most scenic spot for sunset.

It s located in the sea and built up on the rock. As if the sea has a low tide, then you could walk to the temple.

- 

-NORTH BALI-

If you stay in the neighborhood of the centrum, then you need a whole one day minimal to explore the other part of Bali.

You will find the most picturesque temple in the middle of the lake, named : Pura (temple) Ulundanu and on the way you may reach -an easy tracking- waterfalls : GitGit. 

Chasing sunset is my favorite thing to do during my stay in Bali, many kind of place offering a cozy atmosphere to enjoy and chill. Just be warned, that alcohol beverages is slightly expensive compare in in Europe. 

Fyi, please wear proper casual clothes.
