Ghost Town - California

Since there s a Halloween spirit in the air today,  it reminds me of my trip to Ghost Town in California back then.

Ghost Town (yes that s the real name) is located in between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It s not that scary as the name sounds like, it just simply was a mining area in the year of 1880.

A hive of activity for the adventurous at heart - the park hosts the Mystery Shack - a crooked house where water runs uphill, 2 museums, narrow-gauge train rides and gold panning. The town thrived for 12 years until the price of silver plunged and mining operations ceased. By 1907, residents had moved away leaving Calico to the tumbleweeds and spirit.
